On Friday morning I entered Mrs. Meyers classroom unaware of how much my genius project would truly change. we have had many professionals in the room before this one and I wasn't expecting anything less than explaining my genius project to the parents and receiving nothing more than a few unrelated comments. But, this time was different. I met with Mrs. Turbeville and she helped me an immense amount. I explained my original genius project to help add background but as I began to proceed onto the next idea she interrupted me and applauded my idea. She told me about how making my scope much smaller. I had originally planned to try to alter the whole Unified School Districts sexual education curriculum but as Mrs. Turbeville told me. It does not need to be such a grand project. It can be altered to only be a presentation to inform and suggest such and idea to the administration. So with her help I created this outline in which I will make my genius project a reality. To start my genius project I created the outline. Next I will confirm with Mrs. Meyers that it is in fact allowed to, again, change and in this cause reverse my genius project. I will then send out a survey to students consulting on whether or not they feel that their sexual education as it was prepared them or was adequately cohesive. Proceeded by me compiling this data and outlining my plan for how to create a cohesive and inclusive sexual education curriculum, with materials such as a release form. I hope to schedule a data to present all of this to administration and hopefully other schools as well… Time to get busy!
I have created the survey and compiled my questions, I will send out the polls today and hopefully acquire the data next week
